Have any questions? We have prepared a list of commonly asked questions to address any potential concerns.


1. General

Q: Are there any COVID restrictions?

A: As with the current laws/guidelines in Malaysia, there are currently no restrictions. However, please do maintain hygeine and safety practices.

Q: What is a furry?

A: Furry refers to a person from the furry fandom. It is a subculture interested in fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include: exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, the ability to speak, walk on two legs, and wear clothes.

Q: What is FURUM?

A: FURUM, Furs Upon Malaysia is a furry convention held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A furry convention is a gathering for members of the furry fandom - people who are interested in the concept of fictional non-human characters with human characteristics. It is a place to meet, exchange ideas and to have fun!

Q: What do I need to get in to FURUM?

A: A paid registration with a suitable photo ID that states your birthdate. If you're under 18, you will also need to have your parent, guardian or your nominated carer with you.

Q: I don't have a drivers license/ID card, will other identification card suffice?

A: Any officially issued photo ID with a date of birth will do. We just need to make sure we're
a. giving you the right registration, and,
b. that you are over 18 if you're attending FURUM unaccompanied.

Q: Do I have to be over 18 to attend?

A: FURUM is a 13+ convention and folks over the age of 13 are welcome to attend. However, minors under the age of 18 MUST have completed a parental consent form prior to the convention dates and minors under 15 MUST also be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

If applicable, you will have to send us a completed copy of the parental consent form by printing it out, completing and signing it, scanning or photographing it, and attaching it with your registration form for your registration to be valid.

If you are under 15 your parent/guardian/caretaker will be issued a parent/guardian badge and they MUST come with you to the registration desk for badge collection at FURUM. You CANNOT collect your badge or attend without them!

Q: Can I volunteer for FURUM?

A: Yes! We are mainly looking for security volunteers. You can also contribute by hosting a panel, running a dealer table or by submitting an artwork for the conbook, we post details for this on our social media pages on a link when it becomes available.


2. Account

Q: How do I create an account in FURUM website?

A: You may click on "Sign In" button on the top right, then click on "Create New Account" button at the bottom of the login section.

Next, provide required information to create an account, which are:
a. Email address (to verify your email)
b. Your legal first name and last name (see "What do I need to get in to FURUM?" F.A.Q. for more info)
c. Your fursona name (will be displayed in your ticket)
d. Country

Then, click on the "Sign up" button. By clicking "Sign Up", you agree to our terms and privacy policy.
Finally, you will receive an email from us to verify your email address. Once you have verified your email address through the link provided in your email, you have successfully created an account!

Q: I have made a mistakes during registration! Can I edit my profile?

A: You may edit your profile by going to "Update Profile" page after signing in your account.
To update your first name and last name, please contact admin@furum.org.

Q: I did not receive verification email after signing up, what should I do?

A: Verify if your email address is correct and check your spam folder. If email is not received within 5 minutes, click on "resend verification email" after sign up. If browser tab is closed, sign in again and resend option will be available.

If you still having trouble receiving verification email, please contact admin@furum.org.

Q: I have forgot my password, I submitted reset password form and did not receive my email.

A: Verify if your email address is correct and check your spam folder. Ensure you have signed up successfully. If email is not received within 5 minutes, resubmit password reset request again.

3. Ticket

Q: How do I purchase a FURUM ticket?

A: To purchase a FURUM ticket, you are required to login to FURUM website and visit the "FURUM ticket" page to make the purchase.

A: Yes, you are required to create an account to purchase a FURUM ticket.

Q: I have made a mistakes during ticket registration! Can I update my ticket registration?

A: Yes! You may update your ticket registration info by going to "FURUM Ticket" page after you have purchased the ticket. (Link to FURUM ticket will be added after ticket registration is available.)

Q: Can I customize my con badge?

Q: How do I know if my registration has gone through?

A: You will receive an automated email from us.

Q: Can I register during convention?

A: Unfortunately, walk-in registration is currently not available due to limited event space.

Q: Can I attend only on the second day?

A: Yes, you will be able to collect your registration and con-badge on the second day. However, you will still have to complete the usual registration process.

Q: I can't make it to the event, can I obtain a refund or transfer the registration to other person?

A: Unfortunately registrations are non-transferable or refundable.

Q: What is "Wanted Reward" and "Wanted Poster" for Grand Sponsor?

A: The "Wanted Poster" is a printed A3-sized poster featuring custom avatar photo submitted by the attendee, along with their "Wanted Reward" amount displayed in FURUM Coins () currency unit.
The "Wanted Reward" represents the attendee's contribution to FURUM.
Every Grand Sponsor "Wanted Reward" begins with 2,000,000 (two million FURUM Coins).
Grand Sponsor attendees may optionally increase their "Wanted Reward" amount by tipping FURUM through the attendee portal.
All tips are voluntary and will be used to support and enhance future FURUM convention events.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all Grand Sponsor attendees for their generous contributions in helping FURUM to make a better and more memorable experience for everyone.


4. Hotel

Q: How do I make a room reservation?

A: You may submit a Hotel Armada room reservation via the provided hotel booking link and promo code in your account page.

Please note that:

  1. You MUST HAVE a valid FURUM ticket to reserve a hotel room.
  2. All your information is valid and correct.
  3. You will receive a confirmation email from the hotel once the booking is confirmed by the hotel.
  4. Hotel will process the hotel booking on a first come first serve basis.
  5. Any changes, cancellations, or special requests must be addressed directly with the hotel.
  6. FURUM are not responsible for availability, pricing, room assignments, or reservation errors.

In addition, grand sponsor are GUARANTEED one (1) premium deluxe hotel room. FURUM will handle the hotel room booking on grand sponsor attendees' behalf. For more information, please check out hotel room for Grand Sponsor FAQ.

Q: How much is the room rate for the hotel room?

A: As of 12th July 2025, the special Hotel Armada Petaling Jaya's room rate provided for FURUM attendees are:
a. Deluxe Room - King Bed - RM 288.00
b. Deluxe Room - Twin Bed - RM 288.00
c. Grand Deluxe - RM 320.00
d. Family Room - RM 388.00
e. Premier Room - RM 320.00

In addition, you may request for extras, which are:
a. Extra Bed - RM 85.00
b. Extra Breakfast - RM 35.00

Kindly note the above rates are subject to 8% Service Tax.
Malaysia has imposed a tourism tax on hotel staying foreign guests.
During your stay, an additional RM 10.00 nett per night will apply on top of the daily quoted room rate in effect at the time of check in.

Q: Is a hotel room guaranteed for Grand Sponsor attendees?

A: Yes, Grand Sponsor attendees are guaranteed one (1) Premium Deluxe Room for 4 days and 3 nights, (from Friday, 12th December 2025 to Monday, 15th December 2025), at Hotel Armada Petaling Jaya.

Please note that:

  1. Grand Sponsor attendees are REQUIRED to provide their phone number during registration.
    You may pre-fill your phone number before registration via Update Profile page.
  2. FURUM will handle the initial hotel room reservation on behalf of Grand Sponsor attendees once the ticket payment is completed and verified.
  3. After the reservation is made, any changes, extensions, or special requests MUST be made directly with the hotel by the attendee themselves.
  4. The hotel room nights are fixed, extensions must be arranged directly with the hotel, subject to availability and additional fees.
